Graduation

In December, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene! WAHOO!  After some of the best (hardest) years of my life I reached a MAJOR goal.  I really couldn't believe I was done with school after graduation and sometimes I still feel a panic that I am forgetting to study at night! Haha!  I can't express how good it feels to have no homework, quizzes, tests, finals etc.

I am really happy that I went into dental hygiene! I LOVE IT! I graduated from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene.  One of the hardest decisions of my life was deciding a major.  I was attending BYU and as I was exploring different majors, I wasn't able to find one that would give me the lifestyle I wanted after graduating.  My Aunt Kristen is a dental hygienist and after talking to her about the pros and cons about her career I began to look at different schools with dental hygiene programs.  (Unfortunately BYU does not offer a dental hygiene degree) I was so torn about what to do, my dream had been to graduate from the Y.  After a lot of praying, I knew that I needed to move into the dental hygiene direction.  It took a HUGE leap of faith, but I am so glad I took it.

Dental Hygiene school was EXTREMELY difficult.  It was 8-5 Monday through Thursday with the occasional Friday.  I was driving from South Jordan to Orem every day and that was very time consuming as well as expensive with gas!  Despite the time I spent down at school, I also had to study for boards.  Just the word "boards" still sends chills down my spine! As most know, I am a stressor and let's just say if I can live through boards I can do anything!

Dental hygiene has 5 boards for the state of Utah.  (and they are PRICEY!) They cost roughly about $5,000.  Not including the price of the school! SO just the price alone added a huge stress to us! Luckily I passed all of my boards with really high scores!:)

I am so grateful for my parents, family and Daniel for helping me through such a hard time.  I am grateful for my parents for paying for my education and I know I wouldn't be here without all of their love and support!

Graduation night was really fun and all of my favorite people were able to come! My parents, Daniel's parents, both sets of grandparents, sisters, + Trevor (Jordan's cute boyfriend) and Daniel!  We went to dinner to celebrate and I was able to open graduation presents.  Daniel SPOILED me with an iPad! I love it so much and I was completely surprised! My parents also got me this watch I had my eye on for a long time now! I am so thankful for such an amazing family! Love you all so much!:)

Out to Dinner with the Family!:)
